For my master’s diploma project, I focused on the ways in which unprecedented

high-speed ground transportation aboard Hyperloop will impact the passenger’s

need for appreciating landscape and geographic position during travel.

I concluded with three fictional scenarios, each evolving out of the former.

HYPERLOOP FICTION

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

Landscape is important to travelers.

How do we view it at hyperspeed?

How will the new window reveal the landscape from Hyperloop?

SCENARIOS

Plausible within a generation, the Short Journey scenario describes a Hyperloop experience similar to an aboveground subway ride.

The Medium Journey scenario extends Hyperloop’s range and accessibility to an express service complete with tunnels to bypass cities and geographic obstacles.

The Long Journey scenario features far-reaching underground interconnection of the different Hyperloop lines, establishing the first global ground transportation network in the distant but imaginable future.

Special thanks to Bruce Upbin at Hyperloop One for his generous insights.
